AMAC Exclusive – By Ben Solis

Earlier this month, former President Donald Trump outlined a bold vision to create opportunity and restore a sense of national pride through the construction of up to ten new “Freedom Cities” – part of a broader plan to bring about what Trump terms a “quantum leap” in the American standard of living. While Trump’s proposal is undoubtedly audacious, it also exists in the context of a large body of historical evidence that suggests such construction projects can rejuvenate a society and revitalize a culture.
“Past generations of Americans pursued big dreams and daring projects that once seemed absolutely impossible,” Trump said in a video release on the plan. “Under my leadership, we will get it back in a very big way.”
“We’ll actually build new cities in our country again,” Trump continued. “These Freedom Cities will reopen the frontier, reignite American imagination, and give hundreds of thousands of young people and other people, all hardworking families, a new shot at home ownership and in fact, the American Dream.”
Specifically, Trump proposed a “national contest to charter up to 10 new cities on a very small portion of federal land and award these charters to the best ideas and proposals for development.” These Freedom Cities would provide opportunities for economic success and home ownership for hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Trump also announced a major initiative to lower the cost of home construction, a push to revolutionize personal transportation through the emerging industry of “vertical takeoff and landing” vehicles, and “baby bonuses” for couples to help launch a new baby boom.
Some critics have set out to dismiss the plan as unrealistic – in doing so channeling the same negative energy as those who derided the idea of constructing an interstate highway system or the Apollo program decades ago.
These critics also miss the wealth of historic evidence that suggests building projects – and city construction in particular – can be just the shot of adrenaline a population needs to enter a new era of prosperity.
Three prominent examples are Tel Aviv in Israel, Gdynia in Poland, and Canberra in Australia. In all of these cases, the city-building endeavor boosted a national spirit of entrepreneurship, harmony, and basic human dignity similar to that which Trump hopes to restore to America.
Many Americans are likely feeling anxious and pessimistic about the outlook for their country today, much as the Poles were in 1918 when they embarked on their vision to build a new port city from scratch. More than a century of abuse by leading European powers had left the Polish people morally devastated, economically weakened, and politically divided.
But the vision for the new city of Gdynia, a home for 250,000 families and Poland’s gateway to the sea, inspired a new sense of hope for building a free and modern country. Twice the Poles had to restart construction, first from the devastation of World War Two and then from the socialist waste brought on by the Soviet command economy.
Now, Gdynia stands as a “window to the world” and shining symbol of the Polish dream of becoming a maritime nation. It has contributed significantly to restoring a sense of national pride for the Polish people.
Americans who might be skeptical of Trump’s Freedom Cities plan should also consider the example of Israel, a small nation under constant threat from its neighbors, some of whom wish to erase the Jewish state from the map completely.
Despite these precarious circumstances, Israelis constructed a magnificent new city in Tel Aviv, even in the midst of existential wars.
As one former mayor of the city said, Tel Aviv symbolizes the ability of Jews to combine a rational approach to the building of a society and their faith in God. As the first “Hebrew city,” it provided an economic and spiritual boost for the Jewish state. Today, that beautiful city on the Mediterranean is one of the major cultural, technological, business, culinary, and architectural hubs of the world.
In Australia, the debates that led to the construction of the new capital of Canberra were a high point in Australian history, drawing together the causes of political reform, faith, and destiny.
A new spirit of national unity also sprung from the construction of the city. As urban historian Karl Fischer described, the Australian effort “engendered in every citizen a feeling of aesthetic appreciation and thereby of civic pride.”
Another example, Brazil’s capital of Brasilia, was built in the country’s sparsely populated interior in a period of less than 4 years starting in 1956. Today the city is home to 4.2 million people.
These are just four recent examples that people today can see for themselves.
Over the centuries, nations that faced crises or a dissolution of unity discovered profound wisdom in embarking on ambitious building projects. This is something that is often missed by modern analysts, who only view cities for their utilitarian appeal in terms of packing more people closely together.
When he first set eyes on America, Pilgrim leader John Winthrop called it a “city upon a hill” – a phrase which itself is drawn from scripture, but which various figures in American history have used to describe the promise and hope of America. President Ronald Reagan famously invoked this phrase in his farewell address.
Now, former President Trump has promised to pick up this mantle and carry it forward if he is elected to a second term, further cementing his legacy as one of the great defenders of American exceptionalism and champions of American greatness.

Today, thankfully, Donald Trump’s reelection has been guaranteed. The NY indictment of Trump
has accomplished this. CNN has finally, after 2 years of irrelevance, now has a life line thrown to
them after falling out of the boat during the 21/2 year Russia Collusion fiasco.
Let’s make it happen
only if they don’t cheat
Sounds like a great pkan!
Would these new cities have defined guidelines for their people and resources? Would they be dedicated “One Nation Under GOD?” Would background checks be done? So many questions…if these cities are Patriotic-where’s the sign-up list?

Our problem is that the communists in our nation (which is a majority) expect the few who pay tax
to take care of everyone and are angry that the small number of taxpayers can’t pay more. Thats why Biden wants one million more IRS agents. Soon, the only employer will be the Fed govt.
As far as I know, the communists are not a majority. They just get the most attention because we have a liberal press (MSM) who airs all of their crap. The Conservative are the majority in this country. But when they sit on their hands and don’t get out and vote during elections, they allow he minority to take control.
The left is real good at spending other people’s money! They let the real offenders, like Al Sharpton, get away with cheating on taxes, when he is the actual kind of “deep pockets” person that the law schools have taught, need to be targeted. It makes no sense not going after the biggest cheaters where the government would get more money for their efforts.
Medicare fraud is everywhere. I complained about being fraudulent charge for Covid tests, I did not order, on my Medicare account.. A couple of weeks later, I received unsolicited Covid tests in the mail. Then I received a letter from Medicare that they were investigating non-delivery of a service that I did not request.
There are lots of companies cheating the American public. But the government refuses to go after them. They want to continue to go after the little guy to keep them under their thumb with threats of audits and jail!
You are exactly correct. It’s estimated that only 15% of the population is needed to control the remaining 85%. If this is true, and I believe it is. Then we are definitely the majority. We need to stop being the silent majority and stand up for what is right and just for our nation and we the people.
Another great Trump concept. Refreshing. Positive. Exciting. Let the sanctuary cities
have all the criminals and illegals ( ie Chicago) while new cities of moderate size attract
normal, decent people. Let all the trans, LGBTQXZBCIX , abused victimized minority,
voter-suppressed, fatherless family, illegal immigrant ridden, poorly educated people live
together in failed cities while those with ambition and worth ethic live in other cities.
Love the concept. Those with legal ambition should not have to live with those who
desire to fail.
I’m excited about your new ‘freedom cities’ idea!
Reminder: South Dakota has a lot of open space … Possiblity an opportunity here in the Mt. Rushmore State!
Presently, I am relocating to Spearfish, SD …
Please let me know if I can help!

When President Trump was in office everything Trump tried to do the Dems hated we did not have all these problems when he was in office look what we have now after several years without Trump and everything is worse but Trump haters are still out there but for some Biden can do no wrong we need hope in this country and with Biden there is no hope. We need someone back that can get this country back on track.
Nominating Trump will give us four more years of Biden and we can kiss the USA bye bye.
Negativity such as yours Rick, both astounds and frustrates. It astounds me that people are such quitters and frustrates that there are so many DJT haters that you, for all your negativity, could possibly be correct. DJT did more positive things for this country and the people of the world in 4 years than all the previous presidents combined since Ronald Regan. And he did that with the left constantly attempting to pull him down and people in the republican party helping. The world was much safer with DJT in the W/H. For people not to see that, it has to be hate, or ignorance IMH. Or, possibly, they are simply happy being sheep.
And this is because the CFR did not have control over Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. They want to control the whole world. And with independent thinkers in the government, the CFR’s plans are interrupted until they can get a new Democrat, or Republican, picked by them and under their control, like Biden. Look what they have accomplished since, nothing positive!
I know this wouldn’t happen but i wish President Trump would build a city so we common sense people could all go there. then we wouldn’t have to put up with idiots on the left.
It would be a good thing because it would show the younger generation what life should be about instead of sanctuary cities full of lawlessness and homelessness and dependency on government handouts.
they would only see it if they weren’t already brain washed
Excellent article.
Donald Trump was on Hannity yesterday & at one point he said “I got rid of NATO”. He appeared very angry & agitated during interview & from what I remember Trump did not understand NATO very good when he became POTUS & he bashed NATO & made issue of other countries not putting their fair share of funds into NATO.. I pray that NATO stays intact for the sake of the world.
Guess where the idea came from that Trump did not understand NATO. It came from the democrats and the Trump haters and the biased media who criticized him for everything he said and did. Too bad that same group will not find fault with Blundering Biden. Now there’s a man who understands nothing but political gain. Trump understood NATO but didn’t think it was fair that the United States payed a larger potion of the funding.
Mr/s? Orange on orange off, sir/ma’am, that kind of talk helps nothing. But then I expect that from the left
Thank you for that Clear reminder, and setting the above inaccurate description of Trump and his view of NATO straight.
I will go for it… as long as the FDA, FBI, Consumer safety, or other WOKE government agency have noting to do with it!
When they get it built the socialists will move in and then “there goes the neighborhood”
I’m all for it. We need something positive. And yes. The current gov’s messes need to be fixed. But personally, I want to live in a place that’s, well, just America the great. I’m so sick of racism, wokeism, communism, criminals getting off scot free, hating on police and Patriots, massive gov control, etc …. I want America back. We need a President like Trump to bring America back from total destruction … for America and her people. To all my Patriot brothers and sisters … I love y’all. You are my family.
In my vision fed.gov. is cut ,staffed with competent people al harmful programs eliminated and existing laws applied to the letter I don’t think it would go down well
We have Trump who has achieved much for himself AND our country. And we have Biden, who has accomplished ZERO by his own “talents.” And his dopehead son who got millions for doing NOTHING positive.
How can some people be IDIOTS and support Biden’s destructive agenda?
You seriously give Biden a Zero for his “accomplishments”??
I honestly believed it to me in the negative, considerably.
I am an AMAC member and subscriber to the AMAC daily news emails. I enjoy reading the articles but every time I pull up an article it asks if I want to subscribe. I X off the window and have even entered my email again to subscribe, but it tells me I am already a subscriber. These are so irritating. Is there any way to stop the constant interruption while reading?
Hi Tony,
We are launching our new website in two weeks, and the flaw you described will no longer happen. Thank you for your comment and patience.

Critics are working to dismiss his idea of freedom cities and promoting their 15 minute communist cities…
Let’s read the US Constitution again. There is no authority for the federal government to do so many of the activities it is engaged in. Let’s not add more projects like Freedom Cities. If a state wants to build one, it is up to the state.
In the meantime let’s think of ways to get the federal government out of other areas not authorized in the constitution. Areas such as education and health care, to name just two.
Federal properties outside of DC and military bases should all be given to the states they are located in. The parks could become state parks and other properties could be used by the states and/or sold to the public.
Good ideas, Derby. I like Trump’s bold ideas, but maybe work on our deficit by cutting programs and useless departments .
There are too many liberal states. If you turn a great project like this over to a state like California it would just become another communist sanctuary city. Nope you can’t trust liberal states to do anything sane and good.
True, but those of us living in conservative states wouldn’t be paying for it.
We have bailed California out before, haven’t we?
Way to many times!!!
