
Representative Lisa McClain’s (R MI-10) bill to posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal to American troops who sacrificed their lives while courageously assisting men, women, and children evacuate the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan last August was signed into law by President Biden today.
The service members including, Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover, Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, Sgt. Nicole Gee, Cpl. Hunter Lopez, Cpl. Daegan Page, Cpl. Humberto Sanchez, Cpl. David Lee Espinoza, Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, Lance Cpl. Dylan Merola, Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, Hospitalman Maxton Soviak, and Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss were killed by a terrorist attack on August 26, 2021.
AMAC was grateful to honor these fallen Americans and recognize their bravery by offering our support for Congresswoman McClain’s heavily bipartisan bill.
