From AMAC Delegate Jennifer Adams, TX-17:
“Rushing after work to drive 1.5 hours to the Town Hall meeting hosted by Texas Congressman Bill Flores, I was able to hand deliver hundreds of signed petitions to defund Obamacare…which he agreed to give to John Boehner next week when Congress reconvenes.
I gave a brief description of AMAC, which Congressman Flores had never heard of, but said that he should join now that he has turned 50. I gave him the packet with AMAC info, and Social Security worksheets and pamphlets.
I was pleased with his view and conservative votes on subjects such as Obamacare defunding; staying out of Syria’s civil conflicts; NSA; IRS, Benghazi, and the immigration bill. He also agreed that Congress should have the same health insurance as the citizens that they are writing the laws for…
Texas is fortunate to have great, conservative leaders. Their challenge, and ours is to convince those Congressmen that are voting liberally to listen to the American citizens and cast their votes based on our constitution and what is best for the American people…
The 1.5 hour meeting was very informative and he answered many questions that were presented to him. I am very glad that I was able to attend this presentation…”
From AMAC Delegate Ron Nordin, AZ-04:
Our..meeting with Mr. Gosar was a total success. He had heard of AMAC but didn’t know the details about our organization. We, Glen Mesker a loyal AMAC Member, and I met with he, and his assistant Penny Pew for over an hour. As a result we have a new member in Mr. Gosar and he will spread some literature around for us. They were impressed with our agenda and the fact that AMAC is over 750,000 members strong…He is looking forward to hearing from our Washington contingent and learning more about our positions.
I especially appreciated…the (Fast Facts)…I incorporated it in our meeting to start. He was impressed with our organization and the way the meeting was handled…
Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to the next task to forward the AMAC message.”
From AMAC Delegate Fredrick Yerrick, CA-52:
“AMAC received strong support from Assemblyman Brian Maienschein of the CA 77th Assembly District…I presented him with a copy
of our AMAC goals and explained how I found AMAC after leaving AARP because of their support for Obamacare! Asm. Maienschein stated that he had heard about AMAC and agreed with our principles. We agreed that conservative principles are in a battle against many opponents.”
From AMAC Delegate Mike Kapic, AZ-08:
“I’ve made contact with the staff of Rep. Trent Franks in Arizona’s District 8 and will be visiting with them in early Oct. The Representative himself won’t be available until later in the year.
When I introduced myself over the phone as a consultant for AMAC, Shari, the scheduler, said, ‘you mean the group that’s replacing AARP? Well, we’re all very much interested in learning more.” You betcha!
Also I’m almost out of the 3×9 AMAC brochures. Could you please send some more. I keep running into people who haven’t heard or have but don’t know about us.”
From AMAC Delegate Jack H. Stuart (87 years old and a WW II Veteran), ID-01:
“…my visit to my conservative congressman, Raul Labrador…I was greeted very cordially, since I had helped in his campaign for election…I pointed out that AMAC has 2,424 members in his district…and the number is growing. I told him that AMAC was gaining 40,000 members per month nationwide. I explained to him that AMAC is a conservative alternative to AARP who supports big government and ObamaCare…He assured me that he had recently joined 42 congressmen voting to defund ObamaCare…”
From AMAC Delegate Jim Williams, OK-05:
“On August 12 I delivered almost 400 petitions from people in the 5th Congressional District to Rep. James Lankford’s office. I met with Emily Burner, Constituent Services Representative for Rep. Lankford, OK-05. Ms. Burner was pleased to receive the petitions for repeal of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). She said that she would process them through their system and make sure that Rep. Lankford was aware of them. Rep. Lankford has been very supportive of efforts to repeal Obamacare and will continue to work in that direction.”
From AMAC Delegate Jerry Ling, KY-04:
“I was happy to hear Congressman Massie was holding the local town hall meeting last week at Dixie Heights High School. My wife and I attended it. As Bob and I talked about in my meeting with him a few months ago, he’d try to put together one of these locally “soon”… I think this was a great event to have and feel a lot of AMAC members attended.”
